Laparoscopy surgery is when the surgeon makes tiny incisions, usually less than 1cm, to enter your abdomen for doing the surgery.
Laparoscopic surgery is being widely used for most of the procedures nowadays. The greatest advantage of laparoscopic surgery lies in the fact that the patients undergoing the procedure have faster recovery when compared to open surgery.
Advantages of Laparoscopic surgery

- Faster wound healing
- Able to resume your normal activities soon

The surgeon uses an advanced camera system to look into your abdomen, and visualization of the structures and precision of surgery will be far better when compared to open surgery.
Almost all surgical procedures can now be done laparoscopically, from the appendix, gallbladder, and hernia to cancer surgeries.
How is it being done?
The surgeon will make tiny incisions on the abdomen and place a trocar. The gas tube will be connected to the trocar, and gas will be insufflated inside your abdomen as it is necessary to create working space. The surgeon will then place the camera, and the inside of your abdomen will be visualized. Additional ports will be placed depending on the surgery and procedure will be carried out.
